Grease traps

Description and use

Grease traps are made for retaining of grease and oils that accumulate in large quantities as kitchens, meat processing factories, catering, large-scale plants, hotels, abattoirs, etc.
The trap serves as a place for trapping and precipitating fats to avoid contamination and sealing of the sewerage.
Because of the greater concentration of fats that cause acidification during the decomposition, it is recommended to place them in front of the house’s WWTP.
Induced biochemical and mechanical defects could result in reduced efficacy.
Traps do not need maintenance, one of their big advantages is an easy installation. A correct installation guarantees its long lifetime period.
Other waste water (rainwater, sewage, waste water containing special light liquids such as fats and oils of mineral origin) can not be fed to grease traps.

Determining the trap’s size

The choice of a nominal size is based on the type and quantity of treated waste water. Following factors should be taken into consideration:

maximum flowrate of waste water
maximum temperature of waste water
density of fats/oils to be removed
washing and laundry detergents’ influency

We normally produce one or two 300 m long input chimney of a 600 mm diameter. The price of a trap includes a smell-tight water closure or a smell-tight closure towards outdoor environment. The angular type shown in the table is non-load-bearing (concrete encasement is required). When requesting a self-supporting anguar type, the price is determined individually.
